Although I was born in Russia in 1987 I grew up in Germany, having lived in the beautiful city of Hannover since I was nine. My father was a passionate photographer and it was his love of the art form which inspired me to begin experimenting with film as a teenager.

Now I’m happily married and a father myself to three wonderful children, I know just how important capturing those special, yet oh-so fleeting moments are, which is why I turned my passion into my life’s work and created the brand Artelie.

I speak German, Russian and English fluently, and I’ve been photographing and filming weddings since 2007. As a wedding photographer in Hannover I find I’m perfectly positioned to travel to venues not only across the city, but the country too. What’s more, I’m very fortunate that my work has taken me all over the world, photographing couples in wonderful locations in countries such as England, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, and Cuba.

To be trusted by a bride and groom to ensure every single magical moment is captured in a way that perfectly reflects them as a couple and their unique love story, is such an honour. But it’s more than being in the right place at the right time and knowing how to take a great shot. It's not the technique that makes the artist, it’s talent and the ability to come up with creative and innovative ideas.

Personality plays a huge part too. I’m a firm believer in making my couples and their guests feel relaxed, totally free to be themselves, because emotion is the most important element of a photograph. I’m open, I’m a romantic, I use humour and a sense of fun to lighten the mood. At other times I’ll step back, almost unobserved to capture natural, reportage style images. As such the pictures feel authentic not forced, and the fact that many of my bookings result from word of mouth tells me it’s something that resonates with my clients too.

As well as people, I find inspiration in my favourite pursuits, namely film, music, literature, travel, architecture and design. I take elements of these to support and feed my style of photography.
