FAQs

1). Do you only shoot weddings?

No, not at all. As well as photographing and filming weddings and civil ceremonies, I also shoot a vast array of other events too, such as: post wedding shoots, baptisms, family portrait sessions, ‘trash the dress’ photoshoots, individual portraits, bachelor and bachelorette parties (aka stag and hen dos), engagement shoots, and so much more. I also produce drone footage, and have fulfilled numerous creative briefs for advertising, film and music clients too. Just get in touch with your request and I’m sure I’ll be able to help.

I also offer a professional image editing service, and with the images I capture I can produce high-quality photo albums, plus a range of bespoke cards and prints, including canvas and acrylic glass.

2). How much do your services cost?

As every request is different and every client has a unique list of wishes, the best idea is to email me with what you want I’ll be more than happy to provide you with a price for my services, which I hope you’ll find competitive.

3). How many hours does it take to photograph a wedding?

It’s completely up to you, and the package you choose. I can be there for as little as a few hours to the whole day (9am to 12:00am). In my opinion however, booking the 8 hours reportage package ensures all those must-have wonderful and unforgettable moments of your wedding are captured.

4). How many photos of our wedding will we receive?

It all depends on how many hours you book. So for example, if I was asked to photograph a wedding for 13 hours, I would create approximately between 500 and 800 digital images.

5). How long will the wedding video be?

Again it varies based on how long you book me for, but during a 13 hour booking I typically produce an edited wedding video of between 10 and 20 minutes, showing the most important moments of the day and interviews with your friends and family. What’s more, all the raw material is also supplied on the hard drive for free.

6). How do we get our wedding photos and video?

You’ll receive your high-resolution, professionally edited wedding images on a USB stick, as JPEG photo files, and for those who have opted for the wedding video will also discover a Mov H.264 codec movie file. All photos and video can be used freely for private use.

7). When will we get our wedding photos and video?

After capturing your wonderful day, the files are organised, backed up and then the editing begins. It can take me between 1 and 8 weeks to edit the photos, depending on the length of time I was at your wedding. Video editing takes slightly longer as the process is more elaborate, typically between 1 and 5 months. But don’t worry, I promise it’ll be worth the wait!

8). Can we order a wedding album?

Of course! I offer beautifully bespoke wedding albums created in Italy and Portugal. You can choose the pages, the cover, the format and the materials of the wedding album according to your wishes. If you need some advice, I’m only too happy to guide you in the choice of materials, show you the assortment of patterns available, and help you create a design that showcases your special day in a way that does it justice.

Just take a look at my blog with several examples of my clients’ albums to see for yourself.

9). Does your price include travel and accommodation costs?

Yes. Although I am based in Hannover, I am more than happy to travel far and wide to capture your big day. For weddings 30km or more outside of Hannover I charge a flat rate for travel expenses, and for weddings 200km or further, there will be a hotel charge.

10). How do I book you for my wedding?

Just contact me by phone, email or in the contact form on my website. Tell me the wedding date and the place of the party, and if the date is still available I’ll get back to you with a non-binding offer. If you want to go ahead, I’ll send you some paperwork for you to complete, including the contract, and you’ll need to pay a 30% deposit to hold the date.

11). Is a deposit due?

Yes, to make sure the date of your wedding is held, you’ll need to pay 30% of the fee at the time of booking.

12). How long before my wedding should I book you?

The earlier the better, but ideally between 5 and 12 months before the big day. But don’t despair if you’ve left things a little late, just drop me an email or fill out the contact form on the website to see if I still have availability.

13). Can we meet in person before the wedding?

Absolutely! I’m more than happy to answer your questions, show you examples of my work, and go through any creative plans or ideas you may have for the photography in person. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to chat over E-Mail, Skype or a phone call, rather than face-to-face, then that is possible too. This method often works best if you’re some distance away or an international client.

14). Can you give us any advice on planning our big day?

Of course! Over the years I have accumulated some knowledge and experience in relation to other areas of the wedding day, and I am only too happy to help suggest some reliable service providers. Just ask away!

15). Our wedding takes place abroad, is it a problem?

Not a problem at all, just contact me with the details.

16). Do you have a drone?

Yes I do have a drone, and it can be used to obtain footage for the wedding video.

17). Do you work with other photographers?

As a people person I have no objection to working with other photographers.

18). Do you use flash or natural light?

I prefer to use natural lighting, but like all professionals if there isn’t enough light to get a strong enough image I will use flash to compensate.

19). Do you need a meal on the wedding day?

Yes please that would be ideal. If you could seat me to one side that would work best.

20). We have already celebrated our wedding, can we still organise a shoot?

Of course! Although your wedding day has been and gone, there is still time to capture you in all your wedding finery, by experiencing you’re very own post-wedding photoshoot. This can take place anywhere you want, for as many days as you like. Why not make a vacation out of it and head somewhere new?

21). What languages do you speak?

I am fluent in German, Russian, and English.
